This is exactly the lens used in the cowl lamps mounted beneath the windshield on LAFD apparatus. The lens fit in almost all of the S&M Lamp Co lamp heads of so many various styles.

    Description

    This is a real nice ruby red lens for a fire truck warning lamp made by the S&M Lamp Company in Los Angeles from the 1930's.  This is exactly the lens used in the cowl lamps mounted beneath the windshield on LAFD apparatus.  The lens fits in almost all of the S&M Lamp Co lamp heads of so many various styles and will fit perfectly in many of the Guide and Dietz FD Lamps, as well.  The lens is S&M No. 5632; it is 5 5/8-in. in outside diameter and the portion that shows through the bezel is 5 1/4-in in diameter.  It is in perfect condition and the surface is clean, smooth and shining bright.  This lens is nicely prismed to spread the light horizontally across the roadway.  This will be carefully packaged.
