Description
Bateman family of silversmith's sterling is highly sought. The pieces have a appealing timeless simple elegance. Hester Bateman took over the family business when her husband died. This piece was made in 1815 by Peter & Ann Batemen (Hester's son and daughter). It is marked for London.The interior of the creamer and the interior of its base both show the tool marks used the form the shapes - really a nice touch! It has a beautiful flowing script mono on the front. It is in very good condition with a few tiny dents (see 2nd to last photo) and one small scratched area (see last photo). From spout to edge of handle is 4 inches. Height is 5 1/4 inch. Weight is 3.5 oz and approximately 97 grams.
